Egypt’s top mufti, Ali Gomaa, who issued a fatwa stating that drinking the urine of Mohammed was a blessed act, in response to another mufti’s fatwa about adult breastfeeding as a way of overcoming the ban against contact with females, has now apologized.
Egyptian Mufti Dr. Ali Gum’a has apologized for a fatwa he issued stating that the companions of the Prophet Muhammad blessed themselves by drinking his urine.
During a discussion by the Academy for Islamic Research at Al-Azhar on the fatwa, Gum’a promised that he would remove from the market all copies of the book containing the fatwa.
