Stunning: Trump Goes to War Against US Intelligence Agencies, Compares Them to Nazis

Wed, Jan 11, 2017 at 9:44:25 am

What a circus this press conference was. His first one in six months, and it was a complete shambles. Among other loony bits, Trump's lawyer took over the podium for almost 20 minutes and laid out a plan to create a "blind trust" that was absolutely nothing like a real blind trust.

People will be talking about lots of moments, but for me this was the most striking, and the most horrifying:

Now attacking the intelligence agencies again. “That’s something that Nazi Germany would have done.” https://t.co/sApLOdiqio pic.twitter.com/0fo6KrOj8X

Trump explicitly accused the intelligence agencies of leaking that #GoldenShowers dossier, and compared them to Nazis. This happened.

The final question was about whether Trump or his advisers had contact with Russia during the campaign. He completely ignored the question, answered another part of it, and then ended the press conference.

The New York Times now has a partial transcript of this fiasco.

Morgan Lewis has either locked down their server or overloaded. I got screen shots before they went offline pic.twitter.com/kF7w6glJ0B

More breaking news; the BBC reports that there's more than one source for that Trump intelligence dossier alleging deep Russian connections and compromising information.
