Not So Current Currency

A couple of weeks ago Anymouse and a few other folks were talking about money and currency. I think it related to the history of “in god we trust”, etc.
I finally got a chance to take these photos of a few things i have hanging on a wall.

“National Currency”, One Dollar, Federal Reserve Bank Note, May 18, 1914

United States Postal Fractional Currency “Receivable for all United States Stamps”

“Fractional Currency was introduced by the United States Federal Government following the Civil War. These notes were in use between 21 August 1862 and 15 February 1876, and could be redeemed by the U.S. Postal Service for the face value in postage stamps. Fractional notes were issued in 3, 5, 10, 15, 25, and 50 cent denominations.”

Upper left, 4th issue, 50 cents, Abraham Lincoln
Lower left, 4th issue, 50 cents, Edwin Stanton
Upper right, 5th issue, 10 cents, William Meredith
Center right, First issue, 25 cents, Thomas Jefferson
Lower right, First issue, 10 cents, George Washington

Two coins that are old and self explanatory.
