This is why I thought publishing details of the find was foolish. All you are doing is giving someone information they can use to make a legal claim. Now we find out the claimant will likely be the Feds, and (even if the Feds do nothing) it’s going to be impossible to sell the coins because no one is going to buy stolen property that the govt can seize at any time.

I recently read about a valuable depression-era coin that was seized by the govt after it was determined the coin was stolen from a mint. The owner sued to get it back and lost.
