It is ridiculous especially knowing the discrimination many Irish encountered. And Senator Norris is right too, it’s never been about Roman Catholicism either. Too many Irish-Americans think St. Patrick’s Day is about hating on the British and getting shitplastered. Now I enjoy the latter as much as the next guy but the holiday for me is about having some fun and it’s also my way of remembering my grandmother who was of Irish decent who got me and my cousins into Irish culture.
