I had a Blackberry and it was the only phone I ever had that automatically downloaded messages - when I was overseas on a foreign network - with no way to stop it other than completely disabling email. The process was insane (and confirmed by AT&T so it wasn’t a stupid user thing.) I used it for two months before getting an iPhone, using the BB SIM on my prior Palm. BB’s suck.
