A bit of kimberlin/right wing background

1 Lord Baron Viscount Duke Earl Count Planckton6/08/2012 1:47:06 pm PDT

I’ve researched the testimony stuff right after I learned about this allegation (it’s in the older threads here). Hypnotic testimony is bullshit in principle, so I had to know if Kimberlin might have been railroaded. And anyway Kimberlin uses it to discredit the whole trial.

When Kimberlin got the Appeals Court to examine the issue of hypnotic testimony they agreed with him that it was problematic in principle. However they have gone through the testimonies of the 6 witnesses and analyzed each. For example, for several witnesses there were pre-hypnotic statements. Etc. The Court reached the conclusion that although the hypnotic statements were problematic, the case stood without them.

For me the clincher was the following fact: during a search of Kimberlin’s possession (in his car, IIRC) police found timers for bombs of the same model as used in the bombings AND metallic balls of the same caliber as used in the bombing. While the presence of the same timers could arguably be a coincidence (Kimberlin’s defense was that he had to do some “normal” dynamiting), the metallic balls can hardly be explained this way, for why would he have them? So from what I’ve read, I conclude that yes, Kimberlin was the bomber.
