Good. A one-year suspension from school is pretty heavy-duty. The progression of their lives just changed permanently. Their friends will move on; they will not.

I read somewhere today that the father of one of these boys met with this lady. I really wonder why the boy wasn’t required to meet with her and apologize in person. Really. THAT would have been a lesson to remember. Getting out of it because you’re embarrassed or whatever and having your parent do it for you? This kid just learned that Mom and Dad will fix everything, no matter how he acts. The kid should be required to meet this lady face-to-face and verbally give her a sincere apology.
