It was not clear who the protesters were or what political affiliations they had. Protesters outside Clinton’s hotel on Saturday night chanted anti-Islamist slogans, accusing the United States of backing the Muslim Brotherhood’s rise to power.

What is happening now is pretty much blowback to America’s 50 plus years of Cold War politics from backing thugs in Latin America and SE Asia to thugs in the Middle East and what the USA did in Afghansitan.

For example, the story behind “Charlie Wilson’s War” is celebrated as an American CIA covery war triumph when in reality all who backed that course of action from the Carter administraion on down to the Reagan years should have been placed on trial both civil and criminal after the first Towers bombing let alone after 9/11.

What is galling is that the American establishment shows no memory of these American covert policies that pretty much made America almost as hated as the USSR was around the world.

I know this is not a popular statement to make on a forum and all bit it is what it is.
