What about athletes from richer countries that gain advantages from sports gear (even better designed sneakers) or from sleeping in pressure chambers, etc?

Also, lots of athletes now are pros. The amateur ideal has ended and thus any purity the Olympic sports can claim. Now it is really a contest of pros vs pros with some sports that may endure as amateur sports because they are obscure and there is no money in it so they are left to the sports enthusiast who does it for the love of that sports.

But even in sports I think don’t have a commercial nature like ‘shot put’ or curling there maybe endorsement money involved.
