This birth rate thing is hitting the white conservative movement at a gut level. Whites will be “outnumbered” within a few decades, and they feel very threatened. Maybe they figure the USA will become another Zimbabwe. It’s an emotional response, and no amount of patient reasoning will dissuade most of these people from a gut-level fear of being an oppressed “minority.”

What are the hot issues for these people? Immigration, undocumented workers, the black guy in the White House, birtherism, Muslims, Mexicans, making English the “official language,” the “war on Christmas,” the “oppression” of Christianity, impending shariah doom, mosques, atheists, birth control, low birth rates (among white folk, anyway), ACORN, the 47% (who as we all know reproduce like rabbits /snark).

And maybe that’s why they reject evolution, too, because it says “adapt or die,” and they ain’t adapting too well.
