The man had a valid permit to carry a concealed weapon, said Officer Dan Friesen of the Lenexa Police Department. But Kansas law does not allow people to carry concealed weapons if they are under the influence of alcohol. It is a Class A misdemeanor.

I wonder how this is supposed to work in the real world. You can carry concealed until you have a drink. Then what? You pull your concealed weapon out and shoot someone? Oh, right, that’s what happened here.

So really, what are you supposed to do with your weapon when you transition from doing a legal carry to an illegal one? Give it to the bartender? But by then you’re already drunk and you’re handling a weapon. Does this make any sense at all?
