When I entered the professional world in the 80âs, things had gotten a lot better than the Mad Men days, but some of the older men still didnât get it, and wound up out of work when they harassed the young ladies in the office.
In the early 70s and before, the woman would be considered the problem and let go if she wasnât compliant with male desires. This has completely reversed due to progressive and feminist voices in our society.
Since then the situation has improved substantially, and I havenât seen anyone get creepy at work in years. I expect the military lags quite a bit behind more progressive elements of society, but theyâre catching on too.
I know. I shouldnât be getting my feminazi panties all up in a bunch over this little âforcedâ word.
Clearly sarcasm, but this needs to be reinforced. Force is a serious problem, and can take something as potentially wonderful as a pregnancy and make it into a horror of destroyed lives if the ignorant conservatives get their way.
Pregnancy - Woohoo, weâre going to have a wanted baby!
Forced Pregnancy - Horror of a womanâs body hijacked by government.
Sex -Woohoo.
Forced Sex - Rape.
Labor - Woohoo, I have a job and am productive.
Forced labor - slavery.
