Downding for assumption without evidence. To say that the fake interview was done to draw “a certain sort of conservative American” is not to say that that same “sort of conservative American” created the fake. It could be someone from outside of the US trying to fake Americans out, or even some rouge person from the American left trying to get conservative media sources to run with a fake story.

Evidence is needed before saying that ‘conservatives’ authored the forged the bogus interview.
