GOP governor candidate sets aside opposition to gays for higher cause: secession

One of the “truths” in Texas politics, at least on the conservative side, is that Texas retained the right to secede when it became a state. That isn’t true at all, but what it did have was the right to be split up into several states. Personally, I’m in favor of that, herding the whole lot of them into one of them, and then finding a treaty clause from our war with Mexico that enables us to sell (or heck, just give) that part back to Mexico. Mexico can let them go if they want, but we don’t have to take them back.
