I fear tonight was the beginning of the end of the Senate being the legislative body that stands in the way of radical change by either party.
Friendly reminder: Senate Republicans aren’t actually interested in legislating because they know, deep down, that their stated agenda would actually be very unpopular with voters and they’d be routed in subsequent elections in all but the deepest red states. This is why I believe to my core that the Republicans will never do away with the filibuster if given the opportunity.
