I’m not surprised. Private security firms, uniformed with badges, guns and tazers, don’t have to Mirandize anyone, they don’t have to have warrants, but they can place someone in custody until the real police arrive, removing the person as a “threat”. More, in certain places, private security cannot be held accountable for the time the person is held, that is, they are sheltered from law suits (or prosecution) because holding suspects is part of their job, and if they have held you by mistake, too bad for you! I’m sure we will begin to see more private security outfits like this at rally’s where disruptive, unwanted, troublemakers, such as reporters, may show up.
