Didn’t Engel’s family disown him because of his association with Marx? This is pathetic of course though. No amount of revising history is going to take away from the fact that the CSA existed because its leaders feared the abolition of slavery. If you had asked them at the time, they would have said that but because their modern day propagandists know they’ll never get away with justifying slavery, they do this.

The Confederacy’s own documents justify secession and the formation of the Confederacy based on the desire for slavery and for the inherent inequality of blacks and whites. But I realize CSA revisionists can’t make reference to such things….
