Me too. I always thought of stinging butt cheeks. I never thought of sodomy.

But just to play devils advocate, if butthurt is a reference to anal rape, would telling someone “fuck you” be a reference to rape as well? Or “fuck me” or “I’ screwed”. Aren’t all of those a reference to an unpleasant sexual experience? Why would a term implying gay male sex be worse?
