One of our HOA board members just took out a restraining order against his next door neighbors over a conflict that started with a dispute over a string of patio lights and recently went nuclear over an improperly planted palm tree.

HOAs are more dictatorial than representative. Given my druthers, I wouldn’t live in a house subject to an HOA (I rented one once in Va Beach - what a nightmare).
