Trump himself does not give a shit as he obviously does not believe any of it, but he is willing to accept the support of Fundamentalists and will promote their agenda much more so than Ronald Reagan ever did.

Reagan specifically invited Evangelicals in. He cared enough about them to include them in his party. Ever since Paul Weyrich, they have stuck to the GOP like glue.

As for Mormons, they care a lot more about voting for R-Mammon.
