I’ve only read the series once but it has stuck with me since. It’s the most detailed description of fatal domestic violence out there. They interview a woman whose last memory before being shot in the head (“literally right between the eyes” was how she described it) was her husband saying to her “If I can’t have you, no one can.” She miraculously survived. Her husband killed himself.
