Yeah, me too. My blood pressure was at the “You’re Going To Have A Stroke in X Minutes” level. I kept telling them it was because I was there and in pain not because my BP was actually that high.

I had to sit in the ER for four hours while they repeatedly took my BP (the one single thing I hate and fear more than anything…take my blood, give me shots, but please don’t take my BP… it always makes my fingerstips feel like they are going to shoot off of my fingers.) It took that long for my BP to normalize.

Just the thought of having my BP taken raises my BP significantly.

I’ve heard of white coat hypertension for blood pressure measurements in medical offices etc., but this sounds more all-encompassing. How on earth do you know what your BP really is?
