It is discouraging that the essentially true accusation that the US Christian Right is going for theocracy gets so little traction in mainstream discussions.

They know they cannot yet succeed at a national or constitutional level, but they can do it at a local and adminstrative level, just like they are trying to de facto reverse Roe v Wade by making abortions all but inaccessible.
