That happens from time to time. Not sure it’s a trend, hopefully just normal oscillations.
In the UK, UKIP is a protest party - particularly for those disenchanted with the Tories. And EU elections aren’t the same as national elections, where these parties usually don’t perform all that well.
There are exceptions of course; Hungary’s Jobbik does pretty well at home, and there are some far-right parties in Slovakia that do well also. FN of France has been re-branding themselves.
