THIS. I was thinking the exact same thing yesterday, but didn’t want to say it out loud since it sounds like a CT: The religious right wants power. They’ve been slinking their way up to it for decades. They’ve got their guy in the #2 spot right now—they’ll keep stroking Trump’s ego to get as much as they can out of him, then they’ll use his weaknesses to destroy him and take the reins of power. He won’t see it coming until it’s too late because he’s utterly self-absorbed 24/7.

I’d love nothing better than to see him humiliated, but not if it means Christian fanatics taking over. If they start implementing Biblical law, people will quickly see why Shariah was considered a progressive step up in its day.
