re: #98 ipsos
Hey, so remember around this time yesterday when I tried to reach out for an honest conversation with a FB friend/IRL acquaintance who was applauding the āanimalsā statement from the White House?
This guyās been in a very bad place lately - a close family member has been hospitalized in a coma for the last few weeks and isnāt getting better. So Iām not sure if it was just anger over that that led him to lash out at me this morning as a āliberal assholeā with āphony compassion.ā
Dunno why I was expecting anything better. Itās just sad to see the wedges this administration and this mentality is driving between people who once called each other friends. My only response to him was to tell him (accurately and sincerely) that Iām going to keep praying for his family member to get better.
This world just makes me so fucking sad these days.
(Oh, and one of this guyās FB friends started ranting at me for being a communist, etc. Strangers like that, Iāll ignore and block. But Iām not blocking my friend, because I do really want to know how things go with his family member.)
It can be so hard. I do wish the best for your friend and their family. From what I saw of what you posted yesterday, you were very kind to them all things considered. I see conservatives cry all the time about how āmeanā the left is to them. I really want to be able to understand why my conservative friends and family feel the way they do but then they post something racist, sexist, homophobic, or whatever and I just lose my patience. I love my one conservative friend like a brother but I want to smack him when he posts bigoted bulshit.
