Problem is, we have a lot of employers in America who have no interest in immigration reform, they like having a large pool of cheap and easily exploited labor that they can tap into to keep costs down.
We have a patchwork of laws and initiatives that do little but kick the overall issues down the road or move them into someone else’s jurisdiction. It is a national problem that has to be approached and implemented at a national level, not just border states.
this ‘problem’ could have been addressed years ago from the payroll/employer side
no one wants to enforce it
