Definitely — she should have gotten the shot. But that is true whether or not she worked at a hospital or health care facility. My comment was directed at the issue of whether she was a health care worker who had specific training and knowledge about health issues.

True. Though even in jobs without specific training they might well pick up knowledge or information via osmosis since it aids with the job or simply due to exposure.

Though personality and interests play a big part in the latter. I value knowledge, read a lot, and have picked up swathes of odd information; logistics due to history reading and working with related systems in my IT job; geology due to my brother’s profession and also thinking that fossils and rocks are pretty cool; etc.

Edit: And I know that not all people are like that since I had co-workers who were essentially uninterested in learning more than what was necessary by rote to do the job.
