To me, their worldview is crazytown. I fight Islamism to defend secular humanism from theocratic encroachment.

I acknowledge the Judeo-Christian influence/component on our civilization without using that acknowledgement as a rationale for taking us back to 17th century Massachussetts.

While I (famously) decry public extreme “libertinism,” I defend with my last breath the right to private “libertinism,” or asceticism or anything else.

Using the anti-Islam movement to promote right-wing/religious anti-sexual-freedom is another incomprehensible triangulation, as far as I can see.

It is a mirror-image of the insane Red/Brown alliance that supports the Islamofascists. VB, BNP and the rest of the rogues have this position only because opposition to Islam was an important cornerstone of European culture and politics before the Enlightenment. I think this is going to end very badly. A basic culture that was 10,000 years in the making does not change overnight. The crusader’s mailed fist still lurks beneath the velvet glove of multiculturalism.
