Gawker’s appeal looks to me like a slam dunk in their favor. They always knew, and openly said, they’d lose the jury trial - especially given the way the prosecuting attorney relied almost exclusively on disparaging ‘New York values’, in the most cliched manner possible. Remember, it’s a Florida jury. And they sure lived up to the cliches of their state; asking the Jezebel editor if she had slept with her superiors being one example. The judge encouraging such questions being another.
