The DNC has supported minimum wage increases, has opposed “right-to-work” legislation, regularly calls for infrastructure programs, and opposes deregulation that allows companies to exploit their workers and customers to pad their pockets.

The GOP vary between opposing minimum wage increases to wondering aloud why we can’t allow employers to pay you in a loaf of bread for a day’s work, have engaged in union-busting through efforts like “right-to-work” for decades, oppose infrastructure programs because “illegals”/unions/too costly/etc, and have sold successive generations of Americans on deregulation as the cure-all for economic malaise even as its led to consolidation/job losses/predatory practices.

But sure, a photo op with some steel workers is proof that the GOP are the guy who really “care” about the plight of the American worker.//////

The GOP hates labor’s guts, and we hate theirs. When we had the chance, we got the Ledbetter Act, cutting up a smaller pie. Don’t be surprised if people who watch their kids have a narrower future than their own try to shop their wares a bit.
