“Intelligent design” has never been anything more than creationism in a trench coat, more often than not pushed by the same sort of asshole who believes in “genetic racism.” IT has always been about getting that foot in the door, relying upon the always incomplete picture of scientific knowledge to argue that the “answer” is a “designer” who is just “God” in everything but name. It’s all about the dumbing down of America by saying that since science can’t prove everything to 100% accuracy, then be skeptical of science and ready to accept a creation myth unflinchingly.

- i agree 100% though i have no problem with ID as an (er) idea.
- the problem is when they change lanes and make it ‘scientific’ without doing any of the work.
- if you dont make it testable, independently repeatable, etc, then it’s just a statement of words with no support of its veracity.
- you dont get an automatic ‘blessing’ just because it’s creation related. (see what i did there?)
