Olmstead also worked on Prospect Park (which remains truer to his vision because it’s been less messed around with), and the grounds for the 1893 Columbian Exposition in Chicago, his involvement with which is discussed extensively in the relatively recent book The Devil in the White City, about the serial killer HH Holmes.
