Odd. I have the exact opposite feeling. All this cultist crap in the West is the powers that be reacting to the realization that they’re losing cultural and political control over the United States. Once that’s gone, I think it’s going to have a snowball effect — once some of those “christians” feel comfortable coming out as Atheists you’re going to see them leave the influence of the cults, which will compound nicely. Pushing it forward would be a “Neo-Deism” movement in the states… “Christianity lite: Now with less hogwash!”

… That might be a fun project.

East… east is a big huge mess. I want to repeat the tired old meme of them being a few hundred years behind us culturally but every time I type that it feels racist somehow.

Still, I think eventually they’re going to get tired of being repressed by a bunch of violent cultists in their society — when we start to hear about “morality police” being set upon by angry mobs who have had enough, or village elders declaring honor rape punishments being murdered in retaliation, that might be the turning point.

It’s all moot anyway. We just have to last till 2050 and the Singularity, after all. ;)
