I’ve got alerts set up on all my credit cards - for card not present transactions, and for purchases over a set dollar amount.

Chase, AMEX, and Cap1 are all pretty good that way, and will alert when stuff is done online.

The problem is when you use debit cards, because you don’t have the credit card protection and it’s your account’s funds that get withdrawn.
