Trumpco and the GOP are breaking shit, and we won’t know the full extent of the damage until the Democrats regain more power. House Dems are currently rolling up their sleeves and getting to work, but they have a long road ahead. What we know is horrifying, but I have a feeling it’s just scratching the surface.

To a certain extent, its not as bad as it seems. For example, a lot of the regulatory rollbacks they’ve announced have to go through courts and will never actually happen. And once a Democrat is back in the Oval Office, neglect of enforcement of regulations on the books can be quickly reversed. Their failure to cripple Obamacare has been a big failure as well, as nearly as many people signed up this year as last. One thing I noticed after the fact was that there weren’t any stories in 2018 about counties in danger of not having any insurance carriers to choose from on the exchanges like there had been the year before, and I’m not sure why. That’s a good sign for the stability of the exchanges, even without the individual mandate.
