George W. Bush: No Longer the Decider

re: #56 3kids3dogs

I think he’s being quiet right now so that he can have a future in politics.

I don’t know. You think he would have run for something already.

I’ve been saying this for years, but Charlie Crist is the guy to watch. He’s on the road to the presidency. From Gov to Senate to Pres. I’m not a big Crist fan, only because I’m not a Republican, but he’s not a bad guy. He had a huge approval rating in Florida, up to 73% and that’s among both Right and Left.

It dropped though, down to 44%. I think that had a lot to do with appearance of the Tea Party and more extreme Right. Crist is a conservative’s Conservative, meaning he’s probably too liberal at this point.

In his first 100 days, Crist announced efforts to provide hurricane-insurance relief, ditch controversial touch-screen voting machines for ones with a paper trail, create a “children’s cabinet” to fix Florida’s dysfunctional child-welfare services, increase teacher pay by $300 million and reduce the state’s overcrowded classrooms, convene a summit on global warming, promote stem-cell research and restore voting rights to felons who complete their sentences (which he did last month).
