I have a history teacher friend who went from Sweet Social Conservative to Smug, cocky Libertarian. Going as far to call my politics obsolete and backwards. Yet, when I point to history to point that Libertarianism doesn’t hold water, she yells at me to stop talking politics. Granted both of us have been like vipers to one another on this in the past 3 months. She is backed up by her theory that the market can fix all, while I literally feel I have the force of god on my side in wanting to protect the poor, the helpless, the needy, and those in distress. Which then goes into punishing those who I feel have violated human rights.

To be honest, me and her probably are equal on history, though she specializes in American and British, while I am quite a bit broader. But she doesn’t think critically about History and it lessons. To be modest, I am able to. I could probably be a better history teacher.

Punchline? Her health is poor as a result of a stroke at 18, 4 years ago.

Well, if she had a stroke that early she may think that things like Medicare don’t apply to her, since she likely won’t live to see 65. Sorry to be so negative, but when someone has a stroke that young the odds are not in their favor.
