You would be amazed at how many people can’t see in a straight line, never mind walk in one. Had a client one time that wanted the corners of her square lot pinned. I set the pins and then showed her where there were. There was a nice clean line of site from one front corner to the corresponding back corner. We stood on one and looked at the other and she said “So where does the line go from here?” I said, “It goes straight from here to that pin there.” She looked at it and said “I don’t know what you mean.”

I’d be amazed except my husband has had people in their apprenticeship program who have to be shown how to a) use a measuring tape, b) read a measuring tape, c) estimate square footage, and d) use an adjustable wrench!
