as he is pretty damn every Monday. It’s a seven/eight minute cab (about three miles from the Hyatt. Nice venue. Get the cheap tickets. It’s a small space. If you have time, get to Uchi before 5:00 and try their Social Menu of tasting specials. Best sushi joint between LA and NY. No, really. That restaurant has produced two James Beard winners in Tyson Cole and Paul Qi.

It’s a five minute ride from the Hilton on South Congress Avenue. The food down on the Avenue is tremendous.

When I was in town to play, two of us in the band went to the Continental Club to see Doug Sahm play. That was one of the highlights of the trip.

We played Houston, Dallas and Austin. I think we were in kind of a good-funky part of Houston and I kind of liked it. Dallas was a drag. Austin was the best by far.
