Well, Ms. Yates is wrong. A significant portion of the nation’s electorate is exactly like the poison spewed by Nazis and Klansmen.

Today might be different if after the Confederacy was defeated, they were tried as traitors. I’m not sure though, since plenty of Nazis were convicted in Nuremberg and the ideology still lives on today.

The Ku Klux Klan and Nazi ideology are a set which pretty much includes the same ideas.
