If the Conventional Wisdom didn’t see this coming, the Conventional Wisdom is really dumb. MSNBC struggled during Obama, because it had to defend the party in power. Now the RW media struggle because they have to defend not only the party in power, but a President worse than most people could have imagined.

Basically people are more drawn to the voice of resistance than to state media.

Unfortunately, that graph also shows that there are branches of state media that are continuing to see increases, thus justifying their defense of the indefensible. Notably, FOX, CNN and the NYT all got rewarded for normalising dictatorship and fascism.
