I’m reading Rise and Fall of the Third Reich. There’s some real similarities to what’s going on but some differences too.

Hitler was helped by a crushed economy and resentment against the rest of Europe. Trump inherited a robust economy, but took advantage of resentment by some whites of the gains made by non-whites, including the former president. Hitler was a monomaniac bent on ruling the world. Trump is a lazy, disorganized shlub who mostly likes golfing and making personal appearances.
