I prefer hostels if I want to stay cheap but yeah I hear ya. I’ve done it once before.

In the mountain town ski areas and by the beaches out here, they have short term rentals, and I’ve used them, but they’re always through a rental agency. The houses usually have a property management sign on them, and I’m comfortable in that scenario. But AirBNB, and the whole gig economy generally, is not something I’m a fan of.
