re: #59 Punish Domestic Terrorists
I’d sent my 4K projector in to Asurion for repair months ago due to a single dead pixel on the DMD chip, and first had them return it to me without replacing the bad part, saying they cleaned it instead.
I sent it back, and they returned it not working at all.
I shipped it back, and they declared it dead, cutting me a check for the purchase price, which is hundreds below the replacement cost.
I can use the money, so I’m going to give up 4K for now, but I’m still extremely annoyed that they destroyed it rather than swap out a broken part. It could have been back in use long ago if they just did their job when I first sent it in.
interesting. i thought pretty much everybody had fine print buried in there about how they won’t do replacements or repairs on x number of dead pixels in a display.
