BTW, has there been any actual confirmation yet, by any authoritative source (family, hospital, LE, anybody?) that Tom Petty is actually dead?

As of 17:55 ET, there still seems to be some doubt as to Petty’s life-status: admittedly, the prognosis does not look at all promising, but Tom still seems (at least technically) to still be with us.

Very strange.
