Let’s be realistic. Part of the failure in slowing the spread is that PEOPLE ARE NOT SHELTERING IN PLACE. Too many routinely ignore social distancing. Pritzker issued an order a couple weeks ago and what happened? The first nice day Chicagoans swamped the parks and the walks by the lake. The mayor had to close down the lakefront trail and other public places. A friend who lives in Arizona told me today that though they were taking walks in the nearby forests, they had to stop because so many were clogging the paths that it was impossible to keep the appropriate distance.

My sister’s good friend who lives in Spain is sheltering in place at their beach house. They can go outside on their terrace and one (ONLY one) can go shopping, but otherwise they are confined to their property. We need to be doing more to keep people apart.
