Except that NASA isn’t a big ticket ANYTHING, so that argument is bullshit.

If we got rid of a few bloated defense contracts and stop funding weapons that the Pentagon doesn’t even want because they’re obsolete and outdated, we’d have all the money we need for NASA. “Getting our house in order” is a load of crap. It’s never going to be in order without serious cuts in defense and all of the REAL big ticket items.

Entitlements cost more than DoD, and serious defense cuts are not in the cards. We’ve got too much force modernization to do, and we always will have too much of that to do. The price of being a major power is continual updating. And don’t bring up things like the V-22, because its actually proved itself in Afghanistan.
