Trayvon may have been the one who deserved to have the protection of stand your ground, but due to the vague, bad wording of the law, it can easily be interpreted as protected Zimmerman as well.
The law does not say anything about the precipitating incident beyond saying that someone can’t use SYG if they were ‘provoked’— except if they were attacked in a way that made it impossible for them to flee, which is what Zimmerman is claiming.
Where in the language of the law are you seeing the ‘precipitating incident’ being a large factor?
